|  Elfriede Abbe enjoys a lifetime of artistic recognition and achievement. A graduate of Cornell University in 1940, Abbe has worked as sculptor, wood engraver and botanical illustrator, and has published numerous hand-printed books on a manual press that still takes up the better part of her home studio. Her wood engravings are in collections including the libraries of Cornell University, Yale University and Carnegie-Mellon University. Her sculpture is included in the collections of Cornell University, McGill University and Smith College. Abbe’s sculpture “The Hunter” was exhibited at the 1939 New York World’s Fair. The gallery is honored to represent the work of this wonderful artist.
